Oliver Wigmore is using drones to study mountain snow, water and vegetation

Niwot investigator Oliver Wigmore is using drones fitted with visible, near infrared and thermal infrared cameras to improve our understanding of how snow is distributed across Niwot Ridge, and how this impacts the supply and movement of water, and vegetation health. These novel data are providing an unprecedented high resolution snapshot of dynamic ecohydrologic processes and the changes occurring in the Colorado Rockies.
